Lithium-ion batteries are common in household electronics. Liotech is one of the companies expanding the potential of lithium-ion energy sources by developing accumulators — devices capable of energy storage. Given the worldwide deficit of large independent energy sources, this sphere of energy development is particularly promising.
Working principle of the lithium-ion battery based on LiFePO4
Rechargeable lithium-ion batteries supply energy to electric cars and public transportation vehicles, and they even serve as a reserve power supply for buildings. However, the cathodes in Liotech batteries are unique. Composed of nanostructured lithium iron phosphate, these cathodes increase the energy density of the battery and expand its range of operating temperatures, thereby extending the battery’s life and efficiency. Their structure allows lithium ions to reversibly intercalate up to 50 nm deep and provides over 3000 charge-discharge cycles. In practical terms, Liotech batteries allow an electric vehicle to run approximately 400,000 miles before battery replacement. The materials used in Liotech lithium-ion batteries allow for cheaper production and do not include lead, making them less toxic.
